An important reference for Snježana:

In her book “Politics of Touch”, Manning explains that touch can also be perceived as violence against one’s own subjectivity and the related idea that we are “ONE”. But she challenges us: that if we dare to think of bodies as relational rather than individual, violence and with it the imaginary of power as hierarchy that inhabits our bodies is transformed, merged.

Snježana continues this idea into the score work, creating spaces that happen through different touches and can expand these culturally conditioned boundaries and create new “spheres/ways” of coexistence.

Snježana Premuš has brought the understanding of corporeality to a crucial turning point, where everything that is taken for granted can be redefined, and thus we are faced with an elusive, dynamic body (the imprint of the world that is constantly “changing”).

Interest leads the choreographer into the collective field of coexistence. This is also influenced by how the artist understands the body and time. Time plays a key role in this. Only time brings us to the process, to images that can be understood as an embodied movement through time. Images that do not represent but manifest their inner realizations. The author develops themes and matrices of performances that check and possibly stimulate the collective re-habilitation of the social tissue and searches for living sensory-somatic landscapes that the artists share in order to find a common gesture an “embrace”. She creates the performance “Asymmetry of the embrace” she pushes the boundaries of the performing and the experiential, between the individual and the collective, between observation and participation. The embrace becomes a collective space (suggestion) that we can experience or experience through experience or observation. Over time, it becomes apparent that it is constantly renewed unpredictably only by the action (touch) of the participants and visitors and their personal responsiveness of perceptual-kinesthetic action and decision-making, which enriches the collective experience.
